I have come to the realization that I’m an addict.  My name is Ann, and I’m a food-a-holic.   I’m not addicted to eating food, although, some of my tight-fitting clothes will tell another story, but that’s for another day.  My addiction to food is buying it.

I’ve known about my addiction to buying food for quite some time, but it seriously only became apparent and “in my face” reality in the past week when I visited my sister in Long Island on a weekend and we went to a fairly new upscale food store and although I did not need another morsel of food for my pantry, freezer or refrigerator, I managed to spend $100.00.   Then, on the following Monday, we were almost out of milk, so I ventured out to a local upscale-style food store in my neighborhood, and spent$80.00 – and yes, I bought more than the necessary container of milk!

I decided to start this blog about my addiction to buying food, and, while I’m confessing, there isn’t an artisanal loaf of bread that I can pass up, but I digress…..I’m hoping to find others who have the same addiction, the same passion, the same interests in delicious, foreign, domestic, or otherwise minimally processed foods to enjoy.  How do you know if you are a food-a-holic?  If your pantry, freezer, refrigerator contain enough food to cater a wedding party on any given day, well, that’s an indication of an addiction to buying food!

I also have a website at  www.cookwithaloha.com where I am able to review various foods, kitchenware products, cook books, and tell tales of my culinary adventures to date.

I look forward to conversations with my fellow food-a-holics anonymous and I will continue to post my daily cooking activities, and of course, my food purchases.  There is nothing better than a well stocked pantry!
